Elephant on the chain

The coach Curse told in his podcast (source) of an experience in Sri Lanka. There, young elephants were placed a chain on the foot. Over the years, the animal gets used to the resistance if the set range of motion is to cross. When the elephant is large grown up, the chain is removed and the animal remains in its known radius. We humans are similar. Our youth and upbringing are a long-lasting influence. When we as adults are on our own feet, we move in the radius we know. The outside world remains closed to us. Don‘t be the elephant on the chain.
